Leopold, the founder of Engelen Dressage, has huge experience in the equestrian industry. He was born and raised near Brussels, Belgium, and at the age of 17, he moved to Menslage, Germany to further his riding skills under the guidance of renowned professionals. During his employment at Stall Ramsbrock (2007-2012), he graduated from the German National Riding School in Warendorf and earned the title of Bereiter.

The title of Bereiter in Germany is a professional qualification awarded to individuals who have completed a rigorous apprenticeship and training program at the German National Riding School in Warendorf. To become a Bereiter, individuals must complete a minimum of two years of apprenticeship and pass practical and theoretical exams testing their knowledge of horsemanship, riding technique, and training methods. It is a highly respected title indicating a deep understanding of dressage principles and the ability to train horses and riders to a high level.

In 2012, Leopold returned to Belgium and worked for notable establishments such as Studfarm Begijnhoeve in Retie and other studfarms. He has had ample success in presenting young horses at the national level in Belgium and The Netherlands.

In 2015, Leopold decided to start his own business, Engelen Dressage. Since then, he has been focusing on the selling and competing of dressage horses. Leopold's extensive background and experience have enabled him to develop a keen eye for spotting quality horses and training them to reach their full potential.
